The Good Old American Hamburger
This
recipe will serve 4 people
Cooking Time: 15 minutes approx
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds hamburger
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns
2 tablespoons butter, melted
A Selection of things to compliment your burger, such as:
Cheese Slices
Cooked Bacon
Fried Eggs
Sliced Tomatoe
Sliced Onion
Sliced Lettuce
Sweet Pickle Relish
Ketchup
Mustard
Method
1. Preheat the grill, remembering to brush and oil
the grates.
2. Cool your hands with cold water and shake them but don't dry
them(It is better to handle the meat with cool hands). Then
shape the ground beef into 4 patties about 1" thick. Season
with salt and pepper.
3. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side (or until they are
cooked to your likeness) turning them only once. Remove from the
grill and put on a serving plate.
4. Brush the buns lightly with melted butter and put on the grill
for up to a minute. Remove and put your hamburger on the bun with
your desired accompaniments.
5. Serve ensuring that they are piping hot.
Grandmas Tips
Put a hole in the center of the hamburgers and then
they will not rise in the middle.
Don't press down on the burger while it is cooking
because this will dry out the meat.
