1 quart sifted Indian meal weighs 1lb 4oz
1 pint soft butter (well packed) weighs 1lb
2 tea-cups soft butter (well packed) weighs 1lb
1 1/8 pints powdered sugar weighs 1lb
2 coffee-cups powdered sugar (level) weighs 1lb
2 3/4 tea-cups powdered sugar (level) weigh 1lb
1 pint granulated sugar (heaped) weighs 14oz
1 1/2 coffee-cups granulated sugar (level) weighs 1lb
2 tea-cups granulated sugar (level) weighs 1lb
1 pint brown sugar weighs 13oz
1 3/4 coffee-cups brown sugar (level) weighs 1lb
2 1/2 tea-cups brown sugar (level) weigh 1lb
2 3/4 coffee-cups Indian meal (level) equal 1qt
3 1/2 tea-cups Indian meal (level) equal 1qt
1 tablespoon (well heaped) brown sugar equals 1oz
2 tablespoons (well rounded) of powdered sugar or
   flour weighs 1oz
1 tablespoon (well rounded) of soft butter weighs 1oz
Soft butter size of an egg weighs 1oz
 

LIQUIDS
1 pint contains 16 fluid ounces (4 gills)
1 oz contains 8 fluid drachms 1/4 gills
1 tablespoon contains about 1/2 fluid oz
1 teaspoon contains about 1 fluid drachms
4 teaspoonfuls equal 1 tablespoon or 1/2 fluid oz
16 tablespoons equal 1/2 pint
1 Wine glass full (common size) equals 4 tablespoons or 2 fluid oz
                          1 tea-cupful equals 8 fluid oz or 2 gills
                          4 tea-cupfuls equals 1qt
                          A common sized tumbler holds about 1/2 pint
