A Little Bit About Grandma
Great Grandmas Cookbook is full of exciting
recipes and ideas for your kitchen. Remember the fantastic cooking
smells that used to come from the kitchen when you went to visit grandma,
I do and now as a grandma myself I like to think that they are the
memories that I will create for my grandchildren!
I have lived for the most of my life in the
United Kingdom with my eldest daughter Kerry-Ann. I recently moved
to the United States after meeting and marrying my husband.
We live in the mountains in the State of Colorado
with 3 of our children, and our 2 German Shepherds.

One of my daughter Kerry-Ann's favorite quick
recipe's is for Welsh Rarebit and here is how you can make it for
yourselves.
Welsh Rarebit
Ingredients
4 slices of bread
8oz of your favorite cheese (grated)
1oz butter
3 tbsp beer
1 egg beaten
1/2 tsp dry mustard powder
salt and pepper
Recipe
1. Toast the bread under a medium grill (one side only!)
2. Put the cheese, butter and beer into a saucepan.
Heat slowly over a low heat stirring continuously.
3. Add the mustard powder and the salt and pepper
and stir well until a thick and creamy mixture has formed.
4. Allow to cool slightly before adding the
egg.
5. Spread the mixture on the uncooked side of
the bread and put under a hot grill until brown and bubbling.
I hope you all enjoy Kerry-Ann's version.
